Personal Things getting in the way.

My mother was involved in a car wreck. I have an interview that is stressing me out. So there is not a lot of extra time for blogging. So no much for you this week.

In other news, I am thinking about a starting a new video series. "Best in a Series" where I would talk about long running video game and movie franchises and give my opinion as to the best there in. I welcome feedback on this.

Something a little more personal.

Earlier this past month was the 2nd year anniversary of this blog. This is not big deal, nor should anyone really care. However, I thought in honor of this little non-event that I would let the readers I have in on my life just a little. So there won't be much in the way of jokes this week.

I write this blog on a laptop from 2005. This is so I can write while laying down. This is also the computer I spend the most time on. It is old, and getting more than a bit slow. However, it still functions with no major problems, and I can't afford to replace it anyway. It was a powerful machine back in its day.

This is the truck I drive. This truck is old, but still runs well. You may remember a blog about the troubles of owning a truck, this was indeed the inspiration. In a couple more years it won't need to smog-checked anymore, that will be nice.

Here are the desktops I make my videos on. You will also see the mic I use to record with, and yes I know I need a better mic. The one on the left is newer, and the one I use to PC game. The right one is mostly for archiving. Also in this picture is a notebook where I write down ideas for blogs and videos, and ideas can strike at very odd times.

Sorry for the short blog, it is not easy to share things about myself. I willing to answer any question that anyone might have. So please do let me know what you would like to know.  Thank you for reading.

Answering a few questions.

Every so often I get question from people about myself and this blog. So rather than answering them on a repeated basis, we are going to answer the more common of them right here for all to see. These are questions about myself, about this blog, about my youtube videos. This seemed like the best place to answer them.

Q: Why do you do this?

A: I am unemployed and hoping to get some money out of it.

Q: Have you gotten any money out of this?

A: No. Not yet. Guess I need more readers/viewers/fans.

Q: Why are your videos always photo-montages?

A: Because I don't have a camera that does good video. Also youtube won't let you monetize videos with footage from video games or television or movies. So I am stuck with photo-montages for the time being. Honestly I would like to move on to something a bit more complex. 

Q: Where are you from?

A: Southern California. Its too damn hot.

Q: You seem angry in your posts/videos, are you really that upset?

A: Sometimes, but usually it is just for comedic effect. Exaggeration is a useful tool in comedy.

Q: I found something you said/wrote offensive, what do you plan to do about it?

A: Not a damn thing.

Q: Why do you have so much negativity toward ___________?

A: Well one of two options. Either I have major psychotic hatred for that subject, or I am frequently inspired form over exposure to it. Not sure if there is really a difference between the two options.

Q: Where do you get your ideas from?

A: From the voices in my head. I wish they would quiet down sometimes.

Q: Do you take requests?

A: Sometimes, if they strike my fancy.

Personal Bullshit

Sorry folks, there are no jokes today. Just want to share a few details of my personal hell with you all. Maybe you don't want to hear it, but I need somewhere to say it, and here it all is.

First I am very sick. I have been since last week and my last post. It is a week later and I am still doing fairly bad. I have a lot of pressure in my chest, my ribs hurt form couching and nothing ever coming up. It seem likely I need doctor, but I have no insurance and less money. So lets hope some vitamin C is enough to get me back on a healthy path. If it doesn't, then I guess I might just learn that last punchline.

Second my brother's wife just had their first child. It is a little girl. Knowing the two of them, the best name the child could have is "future abuse victim".  Seems criminal that a pair like them can have a child with no one doing anything to stop them. Well too late now, in 16-18 year the child will be a problem for the state. Sometimes an abortion would be a better solution for all parties involved.

Thirdly, and lastly, I think I have lost my woman. No point in details here. How can I explain something I don't fully understand? She might be gone, but I still love her. Might not matter to her if I love her, but I do and always will.

Well that is all my sad bullshit. Sorry for the lack of humor. Next week, and next year we will laugh together again. Happy New year, Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays. On New Years, have a drink for me.

Thanksgiving Plans

Today, lets get a little personal. Let all my reader(s) in on what I do for Thanksgiving. It is not really what most people do, but it is what I have come to do.

Well I don't do much. I see no family. I eat no turkey. No interest is paid to any parade, or sporting event. Most things that are generally associated with the holiday are entirely devoid of my Thanksgiving. It is not to say that I have no traditions, they just are just not what other people do.

What I do is enjoy a few meals out. I go to Carl's Jr, every year since I was 16. I drive through alone, and eat in my vehicle.

Knowing this is the "official" start of the Christmas season I watch the only Christmas movie I approve of: "The Ref" and "Bad Santa". Always hoping for anther anti-Christmas movie to come along, seem to be many years between their releases.

 This is how my Thanksgiving goes. It is the same every year. That is a little look into my world.

So I made a video.

Nothing funny here today. There is a lot of personal stuff getting in my way this week, so I don't have time to do my usual semi-funny ranting. I prefer not to go into complete detail, but it involves family, surgery, and other personal matters. Right before all of this landed on me I was attempting to make an internet video.

Here is that attempt. I know it is not a masterpiece.

I am hoping to get better at them.

No Hate This Week.

Many people say all that is posted here is a bunch of negativity. They might be right, it is meant with some amount of humor, but still there is a negative tone to most of what is posted here. So this week we are going to be positive and talk about some things which inspire, enlighten, or are simply enjoyed by me. This will be a different, and a much more personal kind of thing than you usually see here. I honestly hope you enjoy it.

George Carlin, easily the greatest comedian of the second half of the 20th century. This man inspired me to get into comedy. He never let taboos or other peoples discomforts get in his way. While he knew where the line might be drawn, he knew how to take people to the line and then take them past it.

Seeing this masterpiece was an epiphany moment for me. While the version I first saw was a much abridged, it still had a profound effect altering the way perceived and thought about everything. Now you can see a nearly complete version, which is mind blowing. If you feel like looking this one up, it is black and white, and a silent film.

Sorry for this not being longer. It was very difficult to write this, not so much from a content standpoint, but from things it was bringing to the surface of my mind. I hope you enjoyed it.
