The following story is sadly true. This happened roughly 10 years ago.
So we were at a local pizza place. There was myself, and two others, we were getting some dinner. One of them had invited the MFer to join us, he later admitted he didn't think he would actually come. We had been enjoying a conversation about movies, but once the MFer sat down the conversation shifted to something horrid.
It was a story about events in World of Warcraft, which we all played at the time. It seems there was a group of people that were streaming World of Warcraft for charity, they were starting new characters and playing 24/7 till reaching maximum level. He and people he knew on an internet forum had taken it upon themselves to troll the people doing this. They had done this to the point that Blizzard stepped in and stop them, threatening to ban accounts if this continued.
The three of us were stunned, why would someone actively try to harass and hinder a charity? He laughed at our horror, and add that the charity was a children's charity for children in hospitals. The MFer went on to tell us that he and guild felt they had to do this, as the people streaming had not expressly ask them if it was alright to do this event on "their server" (to be clear this was an offical World of Warcraft server and not any kind of private server). He seemed generally to not understand why we didn't find this hilarious and was somewhat angry that we didn't agree that he and his guild "owned" the server.
During his telling of this, we had all tried to change the subject, with him forcing his way ahead with his story. It is also worth noting that despite sharing in our pizza, he paid for none of it, nor for the drinks he ordered. Instead getting a "phone call" he had to take when the check came.

Last post this year.
Well this is the end of the third year of this blog. It is great that there are readers that come here every week. Lets not end the year on a negative note. Instead, lets be a little positive.
Long term readers of this blog will know that we are not generally kind to Christmas here, so lets talk about the good parts of the holiday season. In fact lets have a top ten of good things about this time of year.
10. My mothers banana bread. I know only I get to enjoy, but still I love it.
9. Seeing the smiles of friends as they open gifts.
8. Giving a little cash to charity.
7. Reconnection with those you are estranged from.
6. Steam sale.
5. Cheap candy the day after Christmas.
4. Shopping violence.
3. Suicide rates go up. Always gives me hopes that one of my enemies will end it all.
2. Hearing the wistful stories of holiday drunks.
1. Being incredibly grateful to not be working retail this holiday season.

Counterfeit Money.
Every so often you find yourself in possession of fake money. Counterfeit bills that have no real value, but you got them as change, or found them on the ground, doesn't really matter how you got them as now you need to get rid of them. Now even if your money is fake, you should still get something for it.
One good place to take your bad money is charity. Teach a lesson to the man asking for donations outside of the store, just imagine him explaining this to his boss. Church collection plates are another fine opinion, and give you the opportunity to exchange your problem for actual money. Put that fake ten in the plate, and reach in and grab a two fives as "change". The church isn't selling a real product, why should they get real money? The best part of the charity option is you can write it off on your taxes.
Another good option is to spend it. Now you can't do this at any retailer, you need to find a small street vender, or any place with bad lighting. The man selling hot dogs on the street isn't going to check. A stripper doesn't have time to check every bill that is placed in her thong. Kids with a lemonade stand have never even heard of counterfeit money. Have a bad waiter? I got a great way to leave them a tip.
It might be fake, but it is your money. You didn't create it, you just stumbled across it. You could do the right thing and destroy it, or you could have a little fun.
