Denny's isn't really food.

Why does anyone eat at Denny's. Sure it might be the only option at 3am; but short of that why would anyone ever choose to eat their? It might just be the worst food money can buy, if it can actually be called food.

If you go in a Denny's you will find three kinds of people.

The first group are people that are high or were high recently. They had the munchies, and quality was not a concern. They just need to feed. It would seem that drugs make even the worst food palatable. This might be the worst thing addiction makes people do.

The next group are old people. At one time Denny's was cheap, and at the time I assumed that was why the old people came. Now Denny's is as expensive as a Chili's or an Olive Garden, so price is not the reason. Perhaps it is nostalgia, hard as it is to believe Denny's might of been good at one time decades ago. It is the only theory I have for this group.

The last group are seemingly sober people not of extreme age. These people are at Denny's for one of two reasons. One is a self-hatred that forces them to eat at Denny's as a kind of punishment, masochism in food form. The other reason could be that they sadly don't know any better, ignorance. Or they could genuinely enjoy eating shit (coprophilia), people must like shit, hell "King of the Hill" was on for 12 years.

Denny's has no real redeeming qualities. The service is poor. The food is seemingly made as a parody of actual food, like what someone would create if they were only aware of what food in theory as from reading a text book. The prices are FAR to high given the quality of the food.

Food for the high and stupid.

Pet Peeves Vol 2

It has been awhile now, but the time has come for more generalized hatred toward the world at large. Just a few topics, and some short rants about them. Please enjoy, or if you don't, consider suicide. If you really do, mention me in your note.

People that want to save the world. The world is a shitty place, and not worth saving. Besides, taking part in its destruction is so much more fun. History remembers the bringers of destruction, and quickly forgets the poor bastards trying to save it.

Fast food barbecue. It is congealed grease bathed in an overly  sweet sauce. Real barbecue takes hours of work, and it is worth the time and effort. What fast food restaurants, that isn't even a methadone for the real thing.

Children that say "back in the day". If you are under 30 you are still in "the day".

People that are "offended" all the time. These people need a slow and torturous death. It is on you if you are offended. You make the decision to become offended. In fact if you are truly offended more than once or twice a decade, you are fucking stupid. You are a low functioning retard and you likely should be a ward of the state.

Anyone that can't discern sarcasm. These people should be greatly rewarded.

When you can only get something online. You are a big company, sell your wares in stores. Not everyone want to share their information with you.

Trying to find a place to eat at 3am. The only thing open is Denny's, and that isn't food. Why can't one good steakhouse, or a sushi bar, or a barbecue joint, stay open at night? Is a good meal so much to ask for at odd hours?

People always selling their line of bullshit. No one is buying it. You are a hack fraud and every one with any mental faculties can see right through you. Drop your act and find something real.

Pussy and cock piercing. These don't help anyone. How much do you hate yourself to do this? On the upside, if you are with some that has done this to themselves just imagine the things they will let you do.

Striving For Mediocre

Seems like the goal has changed. It is as if no one cares about being the best anymore. Food is getting worse, movies have nothing to say, and television after only the lowest common denominator. It is no longer a matter of trying to be the best, it is instead a quest not to be the worst.

McDonald's is not bad. It is not great either. It is edible, that is about all you can say. So why is there a trend of other fast food restaurants trying to emulate the food of McDonald's? Why is everyone making a version of the Big Mack? Jack in the Box has the Bonus Jack, Burger King has the Big King, Carl's Jr (Hardee's) has the Big Carl. The Big Mack is edible, but it is hardly great. It might only be fast food, but they could do better. Carl's Jr has made some great food in the past, the Prime Rib Burger and Steakhouse Burger come to mind, neither of which they make anymore.

Television has gotten worse. The fact anyone knows who the person pictured above is, is proof television television is doing harm. How can "Honey Boo Boo" do better in terms of ratings than "30 Rock". "30 Rock" is a consistently well written and funny show. "Honey Boo Boo" is  very ugly white trash family eating horrid food and reinforcing stereotypes. When did quality stop mattering? When did shit become the gold standard?

Movies. Sure it is January, and movies are usually weak this time of year. However that is no excuse for Hansel and Gretel being released. How did this happen? Some one had to first think this was a good idea, present it to their boss, who would then need to green light this idea. A writer then has to right it, and actors have to agree to be in it. How does all of this happen for an idea this bad?

So to sum up, the world is getting worse. Food is getting bland, TV is making you less intelligent, movies... dear god... When did being the best stop being the goal?

What The Hell Happened To Restaurants?

It seems like the management of restaurants is not what it once was. Lately it seems they are doing something wrong. They seem to running out of items, and not minor items either. It seem they are running out of the items you would most likely go into them to get. Three restaurants had this happen, and all in the same week.

Was with a few friends this weekend, and around about 8pm we decided to order a few pizza for delivery  So we give Pizza Hut a call, as they are the closest pizza available. Well, this idea ended quickly, as they were "out of pizza". It seems they ran out of the frozen dough discs that they make all of there pizzas with. Sure it was 8pm on a Saturday, but that is no excuse. One would think they would have like an emergency stock, just on case, but no. If you are a pizza place, and have no pizza, why are you even staying open?

Right now, at the time of writing this, El Pollo Loco is running a special for a 10$ whole chicken. Seem like a good deal, but you sit in the drive through, engine idling, only to be told they are out of chicken. This has happen to me several times. Everything at this place (nearly) requires chicken. How does even a grossly incompetent manager allow this to happen? This is worse than Pizza Hut, as this not only wastes time, but also gas. One would think they would put a sign in the window, so you wouldn't waste 20 minutes in the drive through with everyone having the same conversation with the window.

The worst offender on this lately is Marie Callender's. There have special that come with your choice of pie. A decent deal, or they would be except for one thing, they seem to have problems keeping pies in stock. So I eat, and at the end of the meal the waitress ask what kind of pie I want. I say "Kahlua, please". A moment later she returns "We are out of Kahlua", very well I think, it is not that common a pie. So I say, "Fine, then I will have pecan pie, please". She goes in that, and comes back "We are out of that too". So at this point I ask "Well what pies do you have in stock?", to which she replies "I don't know". First this waitress should be fired for being this dense, secondly how can more than one pie be completely out?

What happened to the people that manage restaurants? Did they all collectively decide to shove their heads up their asses? Did the large corporations that own these places cut down on bonuses, and they are taking it out on customers? Either way, something needs to be done.

Eating at Islands.

I love eating at Islands. They have good burgers, and some of the best french fries around these parts. I go with friends often to enjoy a meal. In short, I am a fan of this chain.

I ate there today. Drank about 12 diet cokes, ate my fill of bottomless fries. Had a good burger, looked something like this.

However, while the food was great (as always), there was one thing that seemed a bit off. While eating I noticed a waitress. She looked a bit overdone, with her large fake tits and overly tight clothing. She was not serving my section, but was in the section just one over. What bothered me about her, was that in her very tight pants, there seemed to be a huge cock. So she was a transvestite.

Now that is there life choice, and I take no issue with that. People should do what they want. However, it seems like some slightly less tight pants might be in order. Might be wrong, but I don't think anyone wants a huge cock in there face while eating. Just a thought.

Then again, it could of been a woman play a joke on the costumers. I don't know, I didn't ask.

Things That Suck.

Some experiences just suck. Theses things happen to everyone from time to time, and there isn't much that can be done about it. There are things in life that just suck.

When you get into watching a show only to find out it is already cancelled. This usually happens when a show is syndicated. It is on when you have nothing else to watch so you settle on it as you know nothing about it. You see an episode or two and like it. You look to see when new episode are on, and it was cancelled last year. It is a real kick in the balls.

The place you want to eat is out of what you want. You want something, and they are out of whatever it might be. This comes in two forms generally, where they are out for the night, and where they are out and will make more but it will take some time. If they are out for the night, there is nothing to do, but pick something else, but it is never very good because it isn't what you really wanted. If they are out for now, you can wait, but is it worth an extra 45 minutes for what you want? Guess it depends how much you want it, and what it is.

That website you need is down. It is gone. You need it NOW. It might be a technical problem on there end, and it might be back later, but that doesn't help you right now. For all you know it may never return. You need something that was on it, and you have no idea where else you might find this information. Could be work related, could be something personal, doesn't matter either way as you aren't getting it.

There are many more somewhat universal experiences that suck, but this is enough for now. So many things that suck, so little time. Didn't even mention how much douchebags suck.
